Justin Rose has surfaced as the injury doubt for the BMW PGA Championship of the week after showing he’s struggling with a knee injury.
Rose has retreated from Wednesday, although he remains determined to take his position in the area for the opening round Thursday and declared his media responsibilities on Tuesday.
The entire world no 4 suffered the injury a week and was having intensive treatment on the disease, but he will be unable to match in any practice rounds prior to his scheduled 12:40pm tee time on Thursday, when he is slated to play together with Ryder Cup team-mate Jon Rahm and former Masters champion Patrick Reed.
Rose, who dropped to Anders Hansen at a play-off at Wentworth in 2007 and has been also runner-up to Luke Donald five years after, issued a statement that read:”Last Thursday I slid and slipped my knee.
“Since that time I have been getting treatment on the accident and I have been working hard with Justin Buckthorp and my health care staff apart from the path to be able to make sure I am able to play this week’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
“Regrettably, I have had to draw from Wednesday’s pro-am as a precaution, but I am doing what I could to be matched to play Thursday.”
